Why Severity Matters
When a dozer goes down at a remote pit, the response needs to match the urgency. A blown hydraulic line (Severity 1) needs a mechanic immediately. A cracked windshield (Severity 3) can wait until the mechanic is already heading to that location.
The 5 Levels
| Level | Label | Example | Response |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Machine Down | Won't start, safety risk | SMS to mechanic immediately |
| 2 | Needs Work | Low coolant, emissions code | SMS to mechanic |
| 3 | Combine & Wait | Broken wiper, loose bolts | Email, batch when nearby |
| 4 | Needs Classification | AI unsure | Mechanic classifies, AI learns |
| 5 | Non-issue | Operator complaint, no action | Email to management |
How AI Learns
When mechanics reclassify Severity 4 items, Dozer remembers. Over time, the AI gets better at triaging on its own.
